When Jennifer Diamond learned she needed a total knee replacement, she made a decision: she would not let surgery define her. Today, seven months post-op, she is back to building strength and reaching new heights, proving that with the right plan and support, recovery is just the beginning.

Preparing for a New Beginning

Before her total knee replacement surgery in January, Jennifer was already dealing with significant challenges. Her knee had lost its healthy cartilage, resulting in bone-on-bone friction that caused pain and intense swelling. These limitations could have easily halted her fitness progress. Instead, the CORE57 team created a plan tailored to her specific needs.

Jennifer's Road to Recovery

The journey after a major surgery is often the most challenging part. "Regardless of the strength you have pre-surgery, the nature of the surgery immediately renders the affected leg muscles to almost infantile status," Jennifer explains. "My workouts at CORE57 prepped me mentally and physically for the work that was required to make progress during the earliest and most painful days of recovery and physical therapy."

Her preparation had an immediate, tangible impact. "I even fell the first night I was home after surgery," she recalls, "and was able to use my upper body strength to get up off the floor and back up into bed."

As she navigated her recovery, CORE57 remained a vital part of her support system. Once cleared by her doctor at three months post-op, Jennifer began one-on-one personal training sessions with Heather, CORE57 trainer and Myofascial Therapist. "The individual attention and focus on my personal needs helped immensely," she says. She also shared that beyond physical strength, the nutrition coaching she received from Rebecca provided a blueprint for eating properly to fuel her body’s healing process.

As her strength returned, she also added CORE57's myofascial treatments to address inflammation and improve flexibility. Just five months after her surgery, Jennifer was back to participating in group and semi-private workouts.
