Welcome Charlene Bayer, CORE57’s Newest Pilates Instructor
At CORE57, our mission has always been to bring intentional, elevated, and deeply personalized fitness experiences to our community. That mission starts with the people who lead, inspire, and support our members every single day. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to introduce the newest addition to our team: classically trained Pilates instructor Charlene Bayer.
Charlene brings a unique blend of scientific curiosity, athletic experience, and movement passion to CORE57. After a distinguished 30-year career leading airborne exposure research at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, Charlene shifted her focus from scientific research to human movement. After selling her research company, she pursued her passion in Pilates, becoming a Balanced Body certified comprehensive Pilates instructor and bringing a thoughtful, evidence-based perspective to every class she leads.
A Journey from Strength to Movement Mastery
Pilates didn’t start out as Charlene’s primary focus, but it became a necessity. As a lifelong competitive swimmer who also experienced hypermobility, she learned firsthand how mindful movement and joint stability play a critical role in long-term physical health. Working with an athletic physical therapist initially introduced her to Pilates as a rehabilitative tool, but the benefits she experienced went far beyond recovery. Over time, her curiosity and passion for the science and principles of Pilates grew, leading her to pursue formal instructor training and eventually share her knowledge with others.
Charlene’s scientific background gives her a unique lens on Pilates: she understands not just what movement does for the body, but why it works. Her thoughtful and analytical approach helps her students deepen their awareness of alignment, control, and strength in a way that supports lasting progress whether someone is new to movement or a seasoned fitness enthusiast.
More Than Movement: Empowerment Through Pilates
What truly sets Charlene apart is her desire to help clients discover what their bodies can do. Her coaching is rooted in empowerment, confidence building, and sustainable progress. Her classes focus on mindful, intentional movement that improves strength, mobility, balance, and resilience - all key pillars of long-term wellness.
Outside of teaching, Charlene lives a vibrant life with her husband, two daughters, and two grandchildren. She and her husband are avid underwater photographers, traveling frequently to capture stunning scenes across Indonesia and the Pacific.
