When Becca Raymond walked into CORE57 six years ago, she could not have imagined how important her workouts would become. Earlier this year, she faced a total hip replacement, a challenge that could have sidelined her. Instead, Becca leaned on her determination and the support of the CORE57 community to come back stronger than ever.
A Goal-Driven Mindset
Becca's love for staying active has always been evident, but her fitness routine took on new significance when she began noticing discomfort in her right hip.
An appointment with her physician and an X-ray pointed to the need for hip replacement surgery. Instead of viewing this as a setback, Becca saw it as a prompt to double down on her preparation.
Becca shares, "My recent surgery was a total hip replacement in February 2025. About two years ago, I began noticing weakness and a decreased range of motion in my right hip. It was enough discomfort to have a physician consult and X-ray, and then I decided to have surgery. I thought, if I was going to do this, I needed to work really hard. I began a consistent mix of T1, T2, and T3 classes at CORE in order to build muscle strength in both legs and glutes."
There is no substitute for intention. Becca chose to go into surgery as strong and prepared as possible. With encouragement from our trainers, she made the commitment to prioritize her movement and strength before the procedure.
As Becca puts it, "With encouragement from Rebecca—thank you, Rebecca!—I geared up for surgery. My hope was that the preparation would help with my recovery. And it helped immensely!"
Excelling Through Post-Surgery Recovery
Recovery is a process that can test both resolve and patience. Becca took on that challenge with a positive mindset and a focus on listening to her own body. Her workouts adjusted, but her purpose remained the same: keep moving forward, one step at a time.
"I have approached my workouts with a mindset that, ‘I can do this and listen to my body. No one else’s but mine.’ With modifications and assistance from the trainers, I can do it safely," Becca explains.

She shares, "What keeps me coming back is my love of working out and CORE57's community of people that support me and each other. Not to mention the variety of classes and the awesome, knowledgeable trainers. Kolleen and Chris, plus all the trainers, have asked repeatedly how my rehab is progressing, and they continue to encourage me."

Advice for Anyone Facing a Similar Journey
Recovering from a major surgery is a deeply personal process that can feel overwhelming. Becca offers guidance to those about to take on a similar path.
"My advice would be: Believe in yourself and what you are capable of doing. Put in the work pre-surgery, whether that is nutrition, movement, hydration, or sleep, so that post-surgery, you can have a smoother transition back to the lifestyle you want!"
