Improve Your Golf Game with CORE57

June is Men’s Health Month, the perfect time to focus on your personal wellness and performance. If you are an avid golfer, you already know the sport demands more than just skill and precision. It requires balance, strength, endurance, and focus—but how do you know you’re performing at your best, both on and off the course?

CORE57’s three-tier wellness pyramid could be your answer. At CORE57, we specialize in helping clients like you improve mobility, build strength, and enhance endurance. Our personalized approach ensures you are not only healthier but also better equipped to excel at the things you love most—including golf! We are here to break down how each tier of our programming can take your golf game to the next level.

Tier 1: Mobility, Stability, and Active Recovery

Do you feel stiff after a round of golf, or perhaps your swing does not feel as smooth as it could? Mobility and stability are the foundation of any sport, and golf is no exception.

Think of your body as the foundation of your swing. Without proper mobility in your shoulders, hips, and spine—or a stable core to support your movements—every swing could be taking a toll on your body. Tier 1 of our wellness pyramid focuses on mobility, stability, and active recovery—key elements to help you improve your performance. Mobility exercises help prevent tightness and stiffness while improving your range of motion, making it easier to swing your clubs. This not only reduces the risk of injuries but also allows you to spend more time on the green. Meanwhile, stability training enhances your balance and control, making your swings more precise.

CORE57 member Leslie attributes much of her success on the golf course to this very approach. By participating in classes like Maximum Movement and Roll and Restore, Leslie saw improvements in her mobility, which translated to better performance during her rounds. Her feedback speaks for itself: “The extra distance on the golf course is a wonderful bonus!”

For the best results with Tier 1, try classes like Pilates, Animal Flow®, or Maximum Movement once or twice a week. They will help you stay flexible, keep good form, and recover more quickly after long days on the fairways.

Tier 2: Strength Training

Strength is essential for driving the ball further and improving overall performance. Golfers often underestimate how important total-body strength is for balance and force. At CORE57, we tailor strength-training programs to your specific needs as a golfer. By zeroing in on core muscles and rotational strength, we help you develop power that translates directly onto the course. Strength work also enhances endurance, so you maintain consistency from the first hole through the last.

For Heidi, another CORE57 member, strength training was a game-changer. When she first joined us, she struggled with back pain and weak core muscles, which were holding her back during her rounds. After working in Semi-Private Training sessions and other Tier 2 programs, Heidi not only eliminated her pain but also gained 10 additional yards on her drives. She has even joked about occasionally overshooting the green now!

Whether you choose TRX, Kettlebell, or Strictly Strength, aim for two to three classes from this tier weekly. If you’re looking for a more customized experience, our Semi-Private Trainings offer personalized coaching to help you fine-tune your approach.

Tier 3: Cardio Training

Golf might not strike you as a cardio-heavy sport, but spending hours on the course requires endurance. This is where Tier 3 comes in. Cardiovascular exercise helps build stamina, improve your recovery time between swings, and enhance your walking rounds. Our SPRINT and Metcon classes are designed to challenge your heart and lungs without grueling sessions or unnecessary strain. With these high-intensity workouts, you will notice improvements in your lung capacity and circulation, both of which contribute to lasting energy for long rounds.

Consistency is key here. Adding even one cardio session per week can make a noticeable difference. During your initial assessment at CORE57, our trainers will help identify the cardio classes best suited to your fitness level and goals.
